PARKING / SHUTTLE

Parking will be the same as last year, which seemed to work well. We have asked Spectrum Properties, who manage the parking lot at 3rd St. & Church St. if they will open it to parade parking. They have agreed to do so. There will be a $5.00 a car all-day parking charge, but it will be very convenient for you since the parade ends on 3rd Street & you can attend the Charlotte Goes Green Festival, which will be a block over on Tryon St. We think this is the best place to park, although there are smaller scattered lots around the area. Once again, we have made arrangements with our friends at Charlotte Party Charters who have the red London double-decker bus to shuttle parade participants at no charge from 3rd St. to the parade assembly site. The bus will pickup marchers at 3rd & Church St. and drop them off at the Hal Marshall Building. The shuttle bus will operate from 9:15am – 10:30am. That way, you will march back and end at the parking lot area. You can hang out at the festival and the car is right there when you want to leave. For people that would like to park close to the assembly area, there is a parking lot on the right side of College St. across from Hal Marshall Building. Parking is first come-first serve. There is no charge there, but you will have to walk back the 6 blocks from where the parade ends. If you have a trailer or large truck, that is probably the best place for you to park.
